Renee leads The USAA Educational Foundations’ risk mitigation. She is responsible for identification and evaluation of controls and failures, risk and compliance remediation, internal and external audits and regulatory examinations, and monitoring first line of defense processes and performance metrics.
Renee has extensive experience across all functions of risk management, from risk identification to effective process mapping and controls, as well as policy adherence and governance operations.
Before USAAEF, Renee spent more than 10 years as a remote employee working for large financial institutions such as Bank of America and Chase. She consistently played an influential leadership role in the areas of risk, controls, customer experience, complaint remediation, and governance functions.
Renee has a Bachelor of Science in business and HR management and a Masters of Business Administration from Western Governors University. She also has the certified risk and compliance management profession (CRCMP) and holds regulatory vendor program manager (CRVPM) Level I, II & III certifications.
Few things are more important to Renee than the time she spends with her two kids, Tyanna and Bryant. As a family they love to bowl, play games, spend long days at the beach, and take road trips across the country. They also have a mini schnauzer, Kleo.
